What does it mean to have an open data approach, and what UK councils are doing it well? Before Christmas, Durham County Council decided it was best to learn from others before they considered what actions they take themselves. In the spirit of open data (and Happy Open Data Day for tomorrow), I’m sharing the findings of my research with you.

I’m pleased my local council are now looking into open data with a positive attitude. While others are a few steps ahead it’s exciting what this might lead to, for Durham and for the North East.
